FAQ: Can I sell my home without an agent?

written by Mackenzie Cayer

You absolutely can. But you can also step into a boxing ring without a coach or walk into court without a lawyer. It just makes the process a whole lot harder.

Think about it this way: a boxing coach teaches strategy, helps you avoid mistakes, prepares you for challenges, and keeps you focused on winning the match. A real estate agent does the same thing - just with contracts instead of punches.

Could you buy or sell a home on your own? Of course. But an agent’s job is to be in your corner as the professional guiding the process. They help identify opportunities, spot red flags, negotiate on your behalf, protect your interests, and provide advice when emotions or stress start to take over.

Just like a coach is there to protect and prepare their athlete, a real estate agent is there to protect your time, money, and goals throughout one of the biggest financial decisions you’ll make.

Because if the other side has a professional in their corner… wouldn’t you want one in yours too?
