Colorado marks its 150th year of statehood this year on August 1 alongside the United States’ 250th birthday on July 4 - and the Denver area is hosting a full weekend calendar of can’t-miss events. Between outdoor concerts, ice cream cones, and stunning fireworks shows, it wouldn’t be summertime without some 4th of July celebrations, and we’ve got you covered!
July 2:
Glendale Fireworks
WHEN: July 2, 2026 - Doors open at 6 p.m., movie at 7 p.m., fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
WHERE: Infinity Park, Glendale
Feel the rush of Formula 1 racing as drivers push the limits in this thrilling film packed with action and determination, then stick around as the night lights up with fireworks.
July 3:
Sunset Cinema “National Treasure” + drone show
WHEN: July 3, 2026 - Doors open at 5:30 p.m., pre-show entertainment at 6 p.m.
WHERE: Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex
As part of the annual free outdoor movie series, there's a special America 250 | Colorado 150 event with a guest appearance by Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and a drone show after the "National Treasure" showing. There will be local food trucks, drinks and other cinema snacks available for purchase. Bring chairs, blankets, family and friends to the Arts Complex and enjoy the show! This community favorite will celebrate America’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th anniversaries with activities for all ages, live music and festive fun throughout the evening.

WHERE: Clement Park, Littleton
Red, White & You is the largest free community event in South Jefferson County. Geared toward all ages and designed to bring the community together, attendance is estimated at 35,000+ annually. The event includes kids’ activities, live entertainment, food concessions, community business booths, beer & wine garden, and a fireworks display.
July 4:
Rugby Nations Cup Doubleheader & 4thFest - Denver’s biggest fireworks display!
WHEN: July 4, 2026 - Festival starts at 3 p.m.
WHERE: Dick's Sporting Goods Park
International rugby comes to Denver for a historic Independence Day doubleheader, with the USA Eagles facing Portugal and Zimbabwe taking on Tonga. Part of Colorado’s annual 4thFEST celebration, the event also features a free, family-friendly festival with live music, games, and much more! The doubleheader culminates with one of the state’s largest fireworks displays.

The annual Independence Day Celebration offers a fireworks-focused event with food trucks.

WHERE: Coal Creek Golf Course, 585 West Dillon Road
The City of Louisville celebrates the 4th of July with food, music, summer activities and, best of all, a grand finale fireworks display at the end of the evening! Free shuttle from Louisville Rec Center highly encouraged.

Fireworks will launch July 4 at 9:30 p.m. from just northeast of Salisbury Park, weather permitting. Please note that the launch location has shifted slightly from prior years.

Thornton hosts a family-friendly celebration featuring food trucks, activities, beer garden, delicious food, a live concert, parachute jumpers, and a stellar fireworks finale. Parachutists jump at 9:30 p.m. followed by "Red, White & BOOM!"

Denver Native American Dance Troupe and Denver area 4th of July Fireworks
WHEN: Saturday, July 4 - 7-10 p.m.
WHERE: Plains Conservation Center (Visitor Center), 21901 East Hampden Avenue, Aurora
Join us to experience Native American dances and songs of the Great Plains. Every performance is supplemented with stories of origin for the different dance styles and explanations of the regalia. After the performance, we will gather together to watch the fireworks across the Denver area from the high elevation of the Plains Conservation Center.
And finally, if you want to watch a baseball game before the fireworks commence, stop by Coors Field on July 4th and July 5th and stick around for massive post-game fireworks following the Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game.
